Definition
Antistatics (the plural of antistatic agent) are substances which, when added as an additive, prevent or reduce the build-up of static charge on objects.
02
Types: Migrating vs permanent
A distinction is made between migrating and permanent antistatic agents. Migrating antistatic agents offer very good dissipative properties, but are sensitive to external influences and can wear off. Permanent antistatic agents are permanently anchored in the polymer matrix and retain their effectiveness regardless of environmental influences.
